Good morning friends!
Here’s your weather report for Mildura this morning (12th of May 2022)! Hahah! It’s wet, cool and wet wet wet. One of the things I love about living in Mildura is that Winter is generally not wet! Cold (freezing, in fact) usually through the night but normally pretty darn sunny with blue skies through the day.
Not at the moment, though! It’s grey and wet wet wet. Sigh. In good news, I hear it’s similar in Queensland at the moment, so at least I don’t feel completely dejected about the whole thing!
Let’s now return to our regular scheduled programming…

Secondly today – on a personal note
I wanted to say thanks for all the emails and messages following on from my email and post last week – if you missed it, it was about how I did zero marketing/emails to you and my email list for 3 months… without telling them I was going to do that…
To reassure you, I am ok! I am not unwell. I have just been, honestly, struggling with what I want this business of mine to look like and how I want to run it for the foreseeable future.
It’s been a challenging two+ years for many, me included.
I had a conversation with a total badass business owner earlier this week about this exact thing – and we reflected on the fact that many who have been in business for a while like we have, have found this time to be one that has included a LOT of reflecting on what’s important.
I shared something with her that I don’t think I’ve shared publicly before….
My kids are all still living at home and they are 20, 15 and 13 (with all of them within just a few months of going up in age! Argh!)…..
And I realised – again – that I only have them, possibly at best, for perhaps another five years.
FIVE MORE YEARS. At best.
Fuck.
That makes my heart ache. I don’t know what they’ll do in terms of moving out… but even if they are still at home… the next 5 years will have a lot of change… and my kids won’t need me in the same way as they do now.
Fuck.
I’ve had the huge million dollar a year business. I’ve done all the travelling everywhere. I’ve done the endless amounts of hustle. I’ve had the team. I’ve had many many clients I’ve juggled.
I’ve been – and am – successful by anyone’s measure…..
And I just don’t want to spend these next few years doing that again.
I want my business – and my marketing in fact! – to be on my terms.
I want to create powerful connections and coaching relationships with INCREDIBLE business owners.
I want to create long term powerful results with a small group of humans.
I want to run in person events. I need to run in person events!
There will be some online delivery, of course, because apparently we haven’t quite gotten ourselves to be able to teleport yet…
I WANT IT ALL….. AND THAT LOOKS DIFFERENT TO WHAT IT DID 5 YEARS AGO.
To me, the ‘all’ that I want is what I’ve said above.
I want to be able to be here for the kids while they still need me in the way they do.
I want my business to be FILLED with amazing humans who I love working with.
I want to travel for work.
I want live events.
I want to do some online stuff.
I want to make money – great money – but I’m not driven to get back to a the cool-mill-a-year… I mean, if I do that under the above conditions, then BAM! I’m all for it. But I want the other things more. I don’t want to hit that at the expense of spending as much damn time with the kids as I want.
I. WANT. IT. ALL.
Full stop. No returns.
It’s interesting…because as I type this I wonder what beliefs I have to go and work on in order to actually have it all. Sigh. The work never ends, does it?
A mill a year.
Available with the kids when I want and how I want.
A little travel.
A little online.
Big and little events.
Doing things how I want.
Downtime.
Great clients.
Great relationships.
Excellent connections.
Clients getting exceptional results.
Yes please AND THANKS.
