THE FEELING NEEDS TO COME FIRST
When you’re journaling, when you’re visioneering, when you’re trying to work out how to, how to get there, you’ve got to get into that emotional state first and foremost and allow yourself to go there ladies, or to feel all the feelings, allow yourself to like not at all out and then go, okay, well how do we reverse engineer all of this now to make it actually come to life?
Think about when you’re a kid and you were pretending you were making up games, you are play acting, you are doing whatever it was. If I’d been on stage, it might have been at home, it might have been in a cubby house, could have been wherever, and you were like fully immersed in it.
You can see the colors, you can, you can feel it. It’s like you really get yourself into that state of feeling like it’s real. You want to get into that state. You want to feel it, you want to be in it. Inside your head is like, yes, you know, this is where I’m going to be. This is what I want to create. And then the next thing to do is ask: what’s the next required action that I can take to make this happen?
This is where most people fall over. They get into this kind of like dream state. There’s this place where it’s like, yes, I’ve, I’ve got it, I can see it, I can feel it. I can taste it, I can smell it. It’s got texture.
The thing that most people do is that they get really excited about work they want to create, but then they don’t take the action to make it actually come to life. When you’re a child and you really wanted something, you would go and do the thing that you needed to do in order to get the thing that you wanted.
If you want an ice cream, you’d go and ask your parents. If you wanted to go on a play date, you’d go and ask your parents. You don’t just sit there and go, Oh, you know, like what if they say no? What if it doesn’t work?
You know what if the other person can’t come, it’s like we don’t get caught up in the drama of it. We just kind of rip off the bandaid and go take that action. With adults and when it comes to putting ourselves out there and marketing ourselves and creating our own staff and re and really like doing all the things that we really want to do. We get caught up in the fear of not being good enough, not being responded to people, not liking it.
I want you to think about the these taking action like this stretching of a rubber band. If you are a rubber band that’s this size right now and you go out and you try something, you stretch and then you can’t come back to where it was that you, that you originally started from, you try something else and you keep stretching and you keep pushing any, keep trying something more. You can’t come back to being that person that that you were before. You’ve already got one new experience under your belt. You’ve got one new set of stories, you’ve got one new set of learnings and you know what? So whatever if you fail. So what if you go into a launch and it doesn’t work? So what if you go and launch a marketing campaign and it falls flat on it’s ass?
So what if you go and do a live stream and nobody freaking turns up? So what if you start blogging and nobody responds?
In our world at the moment is that we’ve been sold this idea that social media and marketing and launches and everything like that is going to be successful in an instant. Just add fricking water. And it’s actually not true. Well, sometimes it’s true, but sometimes it’s not like that.
It doesn’t happen like that for everybody. It doesn’t happen like that for me. I’ve had program launches, that don’t work at all that I don’t make any sales in. Right. And I’ve got lists, I’ve got audiences, like I’ve got all of this stuff, and there’s still some things sometimes that I put out there that don’t make any sales.
I don’t let that impact me too much. It does kind of make me think “I don’t know what the hell happened there” But Okay, great! I’ve learned something. I’ve always learned something from it and then you go and you try something different and you make sure that you go all in.
I makes sure I do something to get back in the ring.
You get back in the ring. You suck it up princess and you keep fucking going because you’ve got to.
If you really want what you say you want, are you going to let a failed launch knock you off your perch?
Are you going to let a failed marketing campaign knock you out?
If you go and put an ad up on Facebook and it gets declined are you going to let that stop you
If you’re going to let that knock you off from what you want… if you’re gonna let that knock the wind out of you and if that’s going to be thing that knocks you out for the count, then you probably shouldn’t have a business.
You probably shouldn’t be marketing yourself. You probably shouldn’t be out there doing these because honestly it is fucking hard and it requires grit and strength and resilience and the rewards are so fucking amazing.
But you’ve got to be prepared to keep digging deep and to keep on going and be that person that is just too fucking stupid to stay lying down on the mat because you’re afraid of getting another hit. Yes, you might get winded. Yes, you might get knocked out, but so long as you keep getting back up, then that’s the thing that you have got to do to get closer every single freaking day.
That’s what it costs and that’s what it takes.
And if you don’t want what it is that you want badly enough, then all the strategy in the world isn’t going to help you.
All the tactics in the world aren’t going to help you.
All the ad trainings, all the seminars, all the personal development, all of that is not going to help you if you don’t really want what it is that you say that you want. And the big tip here is, you know, it’s really, it’s really easy to get caught up in the romanticism of entrepreneurship and having your own business and you know, it gets painted is this beautiful thing.
This whole laptop lifestyle thing has got a lot to answer for. It is true when you can make it work, but it really does require you to dig fricking deep because nothing comes to you for free.
Nothing comes to you without effort. It doesn’t mean that you sit there and you hustle 24 hours a day, seven days a week incessantly. Oh hell no!
My version of hustle is I’m sitting on the side of the river bank drinking coffee, writing in my journal before I start writing chapter two of my new book. That’s what it takes today.
The thing here is that if you don’t feel that, that emotional connection to what you want, and you have to want it so badly that you would almost do anything to make it work.
If you have not signed up for EYE OF THE TIGER yet, you totally should. It’s four weeks, eight modules over delivered over four weeks. So two modules a week. Getting that rocket up your ass to get you in the ring and to get you firing. To get you really working it, amping it up. And, you’ve got all the strategies in there.
There’s all the tactics in there.
The very first thing we do is what I call dreamgeneering, where we get you really aligned so that you can get super emotional about what it is that you want so that you can get into that state of “Yes, I’m ready to move forward. I’m ready to do what it is that I need to do”
