Well.
I feel like I have a guilty secret to share. Just spent the last hour mindlessly scrolling through Facebook expecting some awesome motivation to hit me and kick off the blog thought train or at least some excitement around what I could share today.
And you know what? I got nothing!
Well. I got something. I got annoyed!!!
Because I got a notification and then bam! Was scrolling for a bit. Jumped out to do something else, got another notification and bam! There I was again scrolling after dealing with the notification.
The result? Annoyance!!!
So I had to stop. I put my phone down. Upside down. Made sure that I had this open and off we went…. And well, here we are!!!
It did get me thinking, though, about some of the things that caught my attention in the feed.
There was the update on the Western Australia sudden lockdown. (I do feel for you guys. Yes, we endured 8+ months of it… but I get it). There were posts about tons of stuff…. One that caught my eye however because of the grossness factor, was someone selling on market place a lingerie set. Used but in good condition. It was mentioned that they had only been worn a few times.
BUT WHAT THE HECK??? THAT’S GROSS. Sorry!!!! Not really sorry at all, actually.
Um. I don’t know about you, but the thought of anyone wearing someone else’s knickers… *vomit!!! Hhahaha. That’s awful.
I am the first to say that ‘you should do you’ and it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks… and here I am sharing my thoughts on this quite openly about the grossness of this…. Someone (you!) may think that this is fine. That all you need to do, like a t-shirt, is just put it through the wash and it’s fair game to someone else.
You could be right…. But these things are going on your most intimate parts. Like right up in there. Hahhaaaa. Just. No.
The other hilarious thing that whipped through my feed this morning was a post about funny things we now ‘old’ people say or remember that are so foreign to the kids of today….
Such as kid “Why do you say ‘hang up’ the phone?” … *face palm*
Or how when Titanic came out on video (yes, to put in the VCR) there were two videos! ß I remember this!
So there was some amusement and the bloody newsfeed kept me hooked for a bit.
Until I told myself NO MORE!!!! 😉
And here we are.
Usually, I would throw in some profound words of advice and give you some things to help you ….
Today what I have for you is this:
As a CONSUMER Social media is like the black hole of time!!!! If you don’t control it, you can be in there for HOURS.
As a business owner, you can be the person that stops the scroll in someone’s newsfeed by helping them! By offering them a solution! By helping them solve a problem. By offering a program for sale. By sharing a funny picture.
There were a couple of posts that I clicked on and read fully. Most I didn’t.
You have milliseconds to capture someone’s attention while they’re scrolling…
How can you do THAT with what you do?
Stop the scroll.
Perhaps not with your secondhand undies, though!!!!
