I get lots of messages about how to shop for bathers, so I thought I’d put together a few ideas/hints/tips to try and make it easy for you

  • Try to enhance the features that you feel are the best. The more you try to hide something, inadvertently we actually increase the focus to that area….
  • For example: If you believe that you have a larger bottom, don’t go for ‘boy cut’ bather bottom. What you actually do, is cover the area with more fabric, which in turn creates focus. You would be much better off to go with a brief-style bather bottom.

If you have a larger bust, a v-neck swimsuit can look fantastic.

If you want to define your waist, why not go with a one-piece suit that has a ‘wrap round’ tummy control type panel in the middle, that gives the shape you want.

If you have a smaller bust, you want to go with a bikini, that has more fabric on the top and push-up inserts in the bra to give the illusion of a bigger bust.

If you’re a larger lady, one piece suits are great! There are so many different designs and cuts that accentuate the parts of you that YOU WANT TO ACCENTUATE! Focus on the GREAT things that you love about your body (eg. great bust, your shoulders and hips could be beautifully in proption) and make sure you choose a suit that enhances that. Don’t try to cover up the parts that you don’t like….you’ll just be drawing attention to that.

“Jets” are an awesome bather brand and have an awesome website: http://www.jets.com.au/

“Bras’n’Things” also have a great range of bathers in store

The other thing about bathers, is that you want to feel comfortable! Remember this when you’re trying bathers on in the store.

Hope this helps
