I am not a can of soup on a supermarket shelf that you can pick up and buy. I am not someone to be bartered with. Or someone who will entertain being ‘beaten down on price or content matter’…. And neither are YOU.
The perils of competing on price and offerings…
So here’s the thing. What is that YOU do?
Most clients I work with and conversations with are big-hearted, creative, helpers, healers, mentors, and coaches, people who make other people’s lives easier and or better. Many struggle with the topic of pricing and it usually goes one of two ways.
- XYZ person is charging $ or $$
- I want to make my stuff affordable for everyone
Can you see how disempowering this is for you?
Let’s walk through it.
You’ve just handed your POWER, your resolve, and your income over to someone else.
Your pricing needs to come from with YOU. Not based on the ticket price that someone else has on something ‘similar’ (I use that word loosely because no one does what you do in the way that YOU do it) to what you do.
So… why do we do it? I’ve been guilty of this in the past.
So and so has a low cost membership site, I should do that.
So and so is doing xyz and charging $$$$, I should do that.
And then the questioning ‘But I want to charge $x, will people see the value?” or “no one will pay e that”! Or “I can’t charge more or less than xyz”…
Here’s the deal. You can charge whatever the heck YOU want to charge. $4K. $40K. $4. $4M. It’s up to YOU.
How much are you willing to do the work for? And it will change, right, depending on all of the things that you want to do or incorporate with that.
There are a bunch of things that you could add or subtract depending on what you want to do.
But trying to compete on price is never going to work out well for you because the people who DO that with, if you decide to price match, guess what?
They’ve just got you to do the work for less than what you feel you should, and you can end up resenting the person and the work.
I make no apologies for charging what I charge, and honestly, it’s not negotiable. If someone is unwilling to invest at the level I want them to for the program they’re in, that’s totally fine!
It would have been a partnership fostered out of alignment versus from a place of empowerment and mutual respect.
Your programs, your offers, your magic are what they are and they’re NOT negotiable. You give the best price, the fair price, the PRICE and the price is the price.
We are NOT Bali business owners or sales people where everything is negotiable.

A friend and I were out yesterday and she wanted to buy something. This guy yesterday wanted to charge 60thousand for something and ended up accepting 250thousand from her.
You are not a commodity to be picked up and purchased off the shelf.
You are someone who deserves to be paid what you deserve and what you want.
The people – your people – will thank you for the leadership you energetically demonstrate when you take this on.
It takes a bit to work through this though, right?
