Lazy or is it just too comfortable?

Funny how you can forget the stuff you know….

Or you become ‘lazy’… ok. Maybe lazy is extreme. Comfortable might be a bit more palatable. I’m running with lazy.

Anyhoo… I got lazy. That’s how I see it, anyway. Yes, there a million reasons WHY & yes, the things that needed to be dealt with, were.

But I took my foot off the pedal & coaster for a while.

I rollerskate. Yes. On quad skates. Not online, nope. They’re not for me.

And there are times, when I’m skating FLAT OUT that I need to ‘coast’ for a bit, right?

To regain my energy. To recover my breath.

So I can keep going.

I went flat out for quite a number of years. Made millions of dollars in sales and spent a lot. Lived. Laughed. Had a grand old time.

But back then, I wasn’t planning on my life changing suddenly & dramatically.

I coasted for a while and did what needed to be done.

So no, not really lazy….

But… after the dealing the things that needed dealing with, I realised that I quite liked being a bit slowed down. I liked the easier lifestyle.

But to me that got a bit boring & by the time o was like OKAY! I’m back. I’m ready. I’m feeling how I used to, things had changed.

I had changed.

The things I used to do no longer lit me up.

I didn’t WANT to do a lot of the stuff that used to. Like 8 hours a day of sales calls 5 days a week. Dialling 80+ phone numbers a day.

No.

There had to be a better way.

I started using other methods of bringing in clients. Webinars. I upped the ante on my social posts. I continued to find other ways.

But I burned out. Totally. It was like once the pressure was off to literally survive, I just ran out of steam.

Recalibrated.

Made the decision to rest & recover PROPERLY.

AND came back to it all with a decision that was simple:

If its not fun, I’m not ducking doing it.

And there it was. Done.

It’s funny though, today I had a moment where I asked someone what activity they do on a daily basis.

And when they shared that, I was like FFS NICOLA. You fucking know this. This is what you would do before you were coasting.

You’ve had your breath.

Get back on the bucking horse!!!

Sometimes we are so smart aren’t we?? That we forget how we used to do the things that we did before we needed a breather.

I believe we all need a breather now & then.

But don’t Coast for too long, cause we can forget half of the stuff that was working on order to build the momentum.
