Long dresses are back!!
In my opinion, many women seem to be getting back to their classic Hollywood Glamour roots judging by the dresses that were on show at the Oscars. Oh wow!! I was sitting here, looking through the photo’s, in awe of some of the amazing gowns that were worn. Please note, that most of the dresses were being worn by the beautiful women, not the dresses wearing them which was pleasing to see, as well.
It got me to thinking about the clever ways that designers put these dresses together that makes the most of the “best parts” of these women – and I personally believe that the designers consult these beautiful women to find out what they believe their best assets are. For example, in almost every photo that I see of Kim Kardashian, she is highlighting her tiny waist. If you have a look at the dress that she had on for the Oscar’s, what was she wearing? Have a look:
Now, at first glance, yes, her beautiful figure is highlighted by the waist, but if you have a look at the way that the structure of the dress at the top is pointing into the centre of her body, drawing your eye even more towards the centre of her body. Even the fabric that is moving from her shoulder, across her bust is moving inwards which again, forces your eye into the centre of her body. The lines that run through the centre of the dress, highlight the middle of her body the whole way down. This is a very clever dress!!! I love it!!
Then, I had to look at Oprah’s dress. I”ve got to say that in my opinion, she looks absolutely stunning!
I have seen other photos of her, that really show off her gorgeous decolletage and bust. She, too, has a beautiful waist and a figure that is enviable. She is smiling and looks incredibly comfortable with herself and in her own skin. Her skirt being shimmery draws your eyes to it. I think she’s just beautiful.
So, that’s my piece! I find the way a garment is structured and how it can draw your eye either to something or away from something amazing! As a Personal Stylist, this is exactly what my clients look for. They want to enhance what they see to be their “best parts”. It’s so much fun!!!
Good night!!!
