The outside looking in….

 

On the outside it probably looks like you’ve got it all going on… but what happens when the inside doesn’t match the outside?

 

Do you share what’s going on behind the curtain? Do you share what’s happening on the inside? Or do you keep the fancy appearances up and keep pushing forward no matter what’s going on internally?  

 

Bleugh. Boring. Have you every felt boring? Like on the outside it seems like you’ve got this fabulous wonderful life, but in reality, it’s day to day pretty much the same?

 

Ok. So maybe that’s what you talk about…. The little things that can be big things. Boring to you might be exciting to someone else….

 

• Boring is subjective
• Exciting is subjective

 

Interpretation is everything, right?

 

I was sitting here, journalling away waiting for ye old muse to kick in. Waiting with breath held (almost) for the latest new-you-beut ‘thing’ to land in my brain and come pouring out of hands…through my pen and therefore into your eyeballs…

 

And what I came up with felt B O R I N G. It felt boring because it was stuff I’ve said a zillion times before in likely a zillion different ways. I felt distracted. A bit disconnected…. And felt like I was searching for The Thing to share with you.

 

Something profound. Wise. Deep. Wildly inspiring. Sexy. Fun. Quite possibly dramatic…

And all I got was this:

 

Interpretation is everything.

 

I was bored with my writing!!! So I picked up my phone, checked the IGrams and responded to a couple of comments. One of which was delightful: “I could listen to you all day. You always state the obvious little things we forget about and you’re a great reminder to why we do things”. Naturally, I replied, came back here and wrote what I’m sharing with you now.

 

You may think your ‘stuff’ is boring, but some people love that and actually think it’s exciting! You may think your stuff is the bees knees and some will think it’s boring!!

 

It’s all subject to interpretation and it’s therefore subjective. The person listening and reading it will get what they need, so you need to get out of your own way and let the message be the message!

 

Sometimes simple is enough.

 

Sometimes not typing a zillion words is enough.

 

The best advice I can give you today is to get out of the damn way and trust that what you’re sharing is what’s needed to be shared.

 

I remember a mentor once telling me that people will get out of your content whatever it is that they need. I like to think that there’s an energetic transmission that happens through your content that people pick up on.. and regardless of how long or how short your post (or video) is, they’ll always get what they need.

 

So with that, I trust that you will get what YOU need out of this!
