SCREW THE FEEDBACK

Dealing with the ‘feedback’ when it’s solicited, unsolicited and anything in between!

Something that is often doubted is our inner strength and resolve.

I’ve seen it happen over and over again where people play down or doubt their own abilities, their knowledge and the work that they do.

I see people every single day playing down their awesomeness. (SAD FACE 🙁 )

I remember talking to a woman in 2013 who did a psychic reading for me. This was before I learned how to tap into my own intuition ‘on purpose’!!!! And I remember asking her what she saw for me. She said a lot of things to me about what she saw, but there was one that stuck for me: “Stop playing the dumb blonde. Why do you do that?”

It struck me as kind odd, because I didn’t think that I WAS…. But…. I was nicknamed Tinkerbell for a while when I started out in business, because I’m short, tiny and had blonde hair! I also used to speak a lot differently – with a SHIT TON of uncertainty… I had thought though, that by that time, I had ironed that kink out of me! ß I’d done hundreds of thousands of dollars in sales THAT WEEK, one, not to mention what I’d done in the lead up to that.

So it was curious.

That nickname wore off the more I stepped into ‘me’. The more I stepped into my certainty. My authority. My leadership.

But it can be kind of disconcerting to get someone elses’ opinion on you, don’t you think?

A similar thing can happen, though, when you ‘crowd source’ feedback on your marketing, programs, logos, images, all of the things.

And it’s even more odd when you don’t ask for it.

Some people just feel like they can verbal diarrhea all over you and that you’ll take it on board in the way that it was meant. Don’t get me wrong. I’m sure the people providing you with their opinion or feedback are doing it with the ‘right’ intention, but unless you have ASKED FOR IT, you should NOT take it on.

I literally have 3 people in my world right now that I will ask for feedback from.

Three. One. Two. Three.

That’s it.

These are people I trust implicitly and know that they understand what I’m doing, where I’m going, and what’s in my heart. They know ME and they have a GREAT background on why I’m asking for feedback.

So here’s the thing.

When you ask for opinions, you’ll tend to get them from everyone – and they often come in the form of good, bad and indifferent.

When it comes to your content and your marketing you don’t want to be asking for ‘feedback’ and I don’t want you accepting feedback from ANYONE. Only YOUR top 3 or top 2 or top 1. From someone you trust implicitly

Not from someone you’re hoping to buy from you.

Not from someone you’re wanting to impress.

Not from someone who doesn’t ‘get what you’re doing’.

Not from someone who is never ever going to buy from you!!!!!

Not even from someone who HAS bought from you

Here’s why:

  • You KNOW your process works, right?
  • You KNOW that the way you do things works for you and works for your clients
  • You know that you have the experience
  • You have the knowledge
  • And the way YOU explain, coach, mentor, train, treat, heal … WHATEVER THE HECK YOU DO.. is done with integrity and passion and it works. Every. Time.

 

So why, then, when it comes to marketing and putting yourself out there we get immediately vommity and hold off?

It’s usually because we are feeling vulnerable…

It’s usually because we’re afraid of fall out…

We’re worried about what our peers might say…

What your husband might say… or your wife… or your partner…

What our friends might say…

What those school Mum’s will think and say over coffee and scones.

HERE’S THE THING: Most people don’t even think about you!! I know. It’s a horrid realisation! Bwahaha! It’s also quite liberating

The people that you want to listen, watch and read, are people who you want to build relationships online with in order to bring them into your tribe, your community and ideally, bring them in as a client.

But they won’t even find you if you’re not showing up.

So repeat after me:

  • I am powerful
  • I am beautiful
  • I am me
  • I am free to be me
  • I am wonderful
  • I am magical
  • I am putting out massive value in the world
  • My stuff works
  • My content is awesome
  • I am READY
  • I am IN. SO FREAKING IN.

All you now need to do is get out there and make it happen, baby!

Get out there. Help some people. And GET VISIBLE.
