Today’s blog is coming to you LIVE from The Lounge before I leave for a much anticipated trip to the USA to hang out with all of THE MOST AWESOME people in the industry! Yay! But…. I have a confession to make….

Number one – the photo attached to the blog today is NOT a photo from today!

Number two – I’m nervous!!! I am heading over to the renowned Traffic & Conversion Summit, hosted by Digital Marketer, who are real leaders of the internet marketing scene. The BIG names are going to be there – Me (of course!! bwahahhaa), Frank Kern, Ryan Deiss, Clay Collins, not mention some big Aussie names, Leela Cosgrove, Thor Saleswarlord, Victoria Gibson to mention just a few.

The event is sold out. There’s a HUGE schedule.

It’s funny, though. I’m not so nervous about attending the event as I am about *drumroll* the unknown!! I have pushed myself and pushed myself over the past few years to really grow and extend myself and this is my first big international trip in, like, more than 5 years. This is my first international trip on my own in the last 10 years!!

Nerves and excitement, of course! It’s going to be a great trip.

In the lead up, people have been asking me what I’m most excited about. And, I have to say, it’s about the education that I’m expecting to get. Even if I can walk away with two or three KEY lessons, that I can implement and get a result from, then that will be AWESOME. Not to mention the networking.

There are so many of my peers that are going to be there who I have ‘met’ online..and will finally get to put faces to names and of course move from virtual hugs to real ones!

If I’m being completely honest, I am also nervous about feeling like I ‘fit in’. I mean. Logically, it doesn’t really matter. That’s not the reason that I’m there…however, I still want to fit in and for people to like me – and appreciate the results that I have achieved in the past couple of years. It shouldn’t matter….however…there’s this little thing that still pops up in the back of my head when I’m embarking on a whole new thing.

I will not let that stop me, though.

A couple of years ago I nearly bailed on a business event that I was going to attend, because I was so worried that I was going to be in the room with a whole bunch of ‘real’ business owners and I really felt like I didn’t fit in with who I THOUGHT was going to be there.

Generally speaking, when I’m THAT nervous about something, my body does this weird thing and gives me a huge headache!!!!! (Psychosomatic much?!!?) I refused to let that stop me.

The result, was that I learned a LOT. I met a whole bunch of amazing people. AND, I realised that most of the people in the room were feeling the same way as me!

The moral of the story is this: DON’T LET THE FEAR HOLD YOU BACK FROM STRETCHING YOURSELF AND LEARNING.

It’s CRITICAL that you do this when you’re in business. Look for ways to throw yourself out of your comfort zone. YOU WILL STILL FEEL NERVOUS, EXCITED & SCARED…let that propel you rather than hinder you.

On that note, I am going to say farewell 🙂 I need a real coffee before boarding!!!!

Let me know in the comments below what you’ve done to stretch yourself out of your comfort zone and where that’s meant that you’ve ended up 🙂

Big hugs!!

Nic xo
