See that picture there? That’s what this whole post is about!
So while we were away on our EPIC family holiday a month (mainly epic..sometimes not so epic when it comes to sharing a room with 4 other people for a month… but MAINLY epic!!!!) I decided that I had to finally write the book that I have been saying for the last 12 months or so that I was going to write.
On our trip there were a couple of stretches of road that lasted for, oh, about 8 hours. Now, my kids have been travelling long distances all their lives (we live 7 hour drive from Melbourne, 4 hour drive from Adelaide and everywhere else is just too far to even discuss!!!), so the DRIVE was easy! Of course it was, because Dom wouldn’t let me behind the wheel!!!!
I got my stuff sorted so that I had my computer near me, phone on the ready with some easy tunes to listen to and the kids sorted and distracted with technology (I’m gunning for mother of the year…don’t judge me!).
The title of the book that I was going to write was called “Unleash Your Inner Rich Bitch”. A book about business. Marketing. Sales. Mindset. Having fun while growing your high six-figure-seven figure per year business. You know.. the stuff that you want to know about, right? My experiences doing this very thing, so that you can have easy access to the systems, the processes, the screw ups so that you can do the thing that WORKED and AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE the things that just plain did not.

So I’ve got myself sorted, right? I’ve said to Dom “I think I should make a start on the book. I’ve got the plan there. I mean, I’ve sold a copy so should probably right the thing”… he shook his head and laughed!!!!
And I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t start it. I wasn’t FEELING IT. (It’s about the vibe, you know?) So I stopped TRYING to make the words come out. Anyway… I started reading another book whilst multi-tasking juggling (telling off) children, dealing with the music, navigating one charging port and 4 devices, the GPS and of course, Facebook.
And GUESS WHAT HAPPENED? Almost as if the words were starting to flow THROUGH me (they didn’t really feel like mine) I grabbed my computer and started typing like a maniac. No outline. No structure. Just typing.
I literally typed the whole way that day until my battery in my computer said no more! Charged her up and the next day started again!
The book that I wrote was NOTTTHING (the ‘ttt’ is there on purpose so you can elongate the word in your head while you’re reading this!!!!) like the one that I was ‘supposed’ to write.
What I wrote came spilling out of the ends of my fingers and I didn’t have to THINK about it. It just came out and it just made sense.
I wrote about my history. My thoughts. Feelings. Things you can do to FEEL better. Strategies for working out what the hell it is that you WANT and techniques for letting go of things that you DON’T WANT. The things that sabotage you and hold you back from DOING WHAT YOU WANT TO BE DOING.
Like finding your purpose and that kind of stuff.
Now, please. For those of you that have known me for ANY length of time, I don’t really talk about ‘your purpose’. I talk about YOUR MAGIC. YOUR THING. YOUR ZONE OF GENIUS. Not purpose. Cause it seems kind of fluffy.
YET… THAT was the book that fell out of the ends of my fingers! (Go figure).
My thoughts on it are this:
* You can’t force something to happen if it doesn’t feel right;
* You need to know your MAGIC. Mine just happens to be speaking what I’m thinking and writing how I speak! (Did you get THAT one?!?!). The stuff that I THINK ABOUT (and therefore talk about, coach on and dream about) is stuff like motivational things. Inspirational things. Seeing the LIMITLESS POTENTIAL in others and helping them to see it themselves.. then helping them GROW & BUILD their businesses around THAT;
* The more you resist & ignore stuff… well.. it just gets louder. Kind of like my kids, bless their cotton socks;
* Stop trying to fit into the mould (mold??) of how someone else SAYS YOU SHOULD BE. Don’t get me wrong. You need to find a business model that WORKS and that REWARDS YOU for the shit-ton of effort that you put in…. but DO THE WORK THAT YOU LOVE TO DO!
* Find your people. If you can’t find a group of them already, CREATE THE GROUP and they’ll COME TO YOU!!! Which leads me into the next point:
* LEAD. I know it’s scary and confronting and you have to deal with your shit. Suck it up Princess! YOU’RE A MOTHERFUCKING LEADER and it’s about time you owned THAT.
So there you go! A brief glimpse into the tale of the accidental book!
It doesn’t have a title yet. I think I’m going to get some people to help me with that while I wait for divine inspiration to slap me over the head with the title!
