What lies beneath…

On the surface… on the outside looking in, people would probably say things like

“Wow! I wish I was her”

“I wish I had her life”

“She really does have it all”

“Wow. She makes it look so easy”

“I could do what she does”

“I wish I could do what she does”

…and so on

What they don’t know is the torment of an artist.

How hard the journey to get here was.

They haven’t seen the fear, doubt, blood sweat and tears. They haven’t seen the grime.

The days of crying on the floor in overwhelm.

The desire to quit, give in. To put the brush down as she waited and waited and waited for the genius, the muse, the inspiration, the download, the idea… to come in and through her.

They probably didn’t realise how hard it was to walk away from things and people and events and places that no longer served her.

The overwhelm and feeling of responsibility to perform on command. Every. Damn. Day.

Doing work, that while she was great at it – a master of it actually – it was withering her soul.

Painting other peoples pictures. Painting what people asked for.

Doing things that others demanded until one day, after enduring ENOUGH, declaring ENOUGH, she broke free of the shackles and burned everything to the ground.

IN the ashes she flourished.

Grew fast and strong, agile and wise.

The grime was a memory. A lesson. Like soot after the fire that can be washed off.

The lesson of remembering to STOP doing things that no longer served her life, her heart, her very soul.

And she led.

She rose

She did amazing things.

She healed.

She inspired.

She taught.

And she created her own at.

Art that fuelled her soul.

Art that helped others.

Thousands of others.

Tens of thousands…millions of people.

For she let go.

Surrendered.

And worked her magic.

It’s time for you to work YOUR magic, babe.

It’s time, perhaps for you to burn to the ground the obligations, the have to’s, the should, the scum and the grime, so that you can flourish.

This is for you.

The grime is the reminder to clean house and finally allow yourself to shine, like the Queen you are.
