FOLLOW THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD

Follow the yellow brick road.

I love the wizard of oz and the magic that goes into that story. I love that Dorothy can click her heels and whisper there’s no place like home and end back there.

Like any good adventure story or tale, we don’t know where it’s headed but we know that the journey is fraught with danger and adventure and joy and laughter

We expect it.

We anticipate it.

And we  know that good will win over evil every time, because that’s the way it goes, right?

Triumph over adversity

Success after failing.

Coming through with the goods even when it feels like we may  not be able to make it through.

Is this the way you’re working through your business?

Trusting that the road you’re taking, whatever that might look like, with the potholes and speedbumps and twists and turns..

We are trained from a very early age with the stories that we’re told (like this one) that the road to success, to ‘Oz’ or entlightenment or success is going to have pitfalls and failings along the way.

We are trained to expect that the other shoe is going to drop.

We are indoctrinated to anticipate that something bad always happens to the hero of the story and that this teaches them a valuable lesson in ultimately reaching their goals/desire/destination.

I think it’s an interesting concept then, to further consider our own expectations, often unconscious expectations, around business.

Do you think that the road is going to be bumpy and problematic to navigate or do you expect a smooth ride?

Do you anticipate danger at every turn wondering what villain is going to raise their head and try to thwart your journey?

Or do you carry on looking at each interaction as a learning versus an attack?

What if we chose to REALLY OWN that every decision we make is the right one?

What if we choose that The Universe / God always has our back?

What if we choose to believe, really really believe, that the road we are on, the path that we are on, is the best and exact path for us. That this is exactly what we needed to walk in order to get to where we’re going?

I think we can all use a little self-compassion at times and not be so hard on ourselves.

This isn’t of course to get you out of action! This is to just be nice to yourself and rather than beating yourself up for the stuff you didn’t do, didn’t say, didn’t action or conversely that you DID… that you let that go.

It’s in the past. The way forward is to learn from that stuff and then MOVE forward.

You’ve got this and the world IS ready for your brand of awesomeness.

More of that, please.
